The State of Alaska Recorder’s Office is a great source of land information.  You can find out land ownership, subdivision and other public information by searching by name or land description.

If you are doing any commercial construction or remodeling you may need permit approval from the State of Alaska Fire Marshall.   Before you start any project that may require Fire Marshall approval it is a good idea to start planning with them early in the process.

For all projects affecting coastal or wetland areas you must get a Corps of Engineers permit.  The determination of whether you need a COE permit or not should be done early in the planning stages of your project.
