Update 2: Propane Leak at Craig Aquatic Center

On August 30, 2023 at approximately 10:20am, a propane leak was identified at the Craig Aquatic Center when the pressure valve failed. As of 3:00pm Arrowhead is continuing to pump the remaining propane off into separate propane tanks and the leak has been significantly reduced. The faulty valve will be inspected and repaired or replaced once the cause for the failure is identified.

School will reopen tomorrow, Thursday, August 31st as the remaining fuel will be contained by that time and the rest will have dissipated. Roads in the area have been reopened with one firetruck remaining on standby at the scene. The Craig Aquatic Center will be closed while the propane tank repair is underway. The pool will reopen Friday at the earliest.

If you smell propane, keep electronics turned off and avoid an open flame.
