PUBLIC NOTICE: Water Leaks and Low Water Levels UPDATE 9:00 am January 11, 2022

PUBLIC NOTICE

Update (9:00 am, January 11, 2022):

Public Works crews have repaired a substantial break in the water main on Main Street between First and Second.

Even though we have identified and repaired some major leaks in the system, it is likely that there are still some leaks out there and with the cold snap expected late next week it is likely that we will have issues with the water system again.  Please help us maintain sufficient water in the storage tank and monitor the system by taking the following actions:

  1. Please check around your house or business to see if there are broken pipes, leaking water, low water pressure, or other issues with your water system that may indicate a problem.
  2. While it is normal for some people to run water during low temperatures to keep pipes from freezing, please refrain from doing so when the  weather is expected to remain above freezing.
  3. Please conserve water where possible for the next several days as we refill the city's storage tank.
  4. Please report any problems with your water system, or running water that you see in your neighborhood or around town to the Craig Police Department at 826-3330 or Craig City Hall at 826-3275.

Thanks for all your help and for your patience while we resolve this issue.
