IMPORTANT NOTICE - Craig Water System Update 3-7-2023

Update on Craig Water System and Boil Water Notice

The Craig Public Works crew has completed work to replace filter media in the second treatment unit and put that back online this morning.  Pressure and flow of water has been building and is anticipated to be above the required threshold by later afternoon/evening on Tuesday, March 7th.

If the system reaches the required pressure system wide, we will be taking water samples and sending them to the lab tomorrow.  At the moment we are still anticipating the boil water notice to be in effect until Sunday March 12th or Monday, March 13th.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE that even when the boil water notice is lifted, it is imperative that residents continue to conserve water as much as possible.  We do not want to drain the system and bring the system pressure below the required minimum again or we will be forced to issue a new boil water notice.  Please do not use excessive water trying to flush your systems until advised by the city.  When we issue the notice lifting the boil water notice, we will provide information on the best way to flush the discolored water from the system while maintaining minimum pressure in the distribution network.

We apologize for the inconvenience and will continue to post our progress daily.
