COVID-19 RESPONSE :

Updated as of 05.21.2021

The City of Craig has been working with local, state and federal agencies to address and respond to the COVID-19 public health emergency. Check this page frequently for COVID-19 resources and updates on the steps being taken locally to address the emergency.

The City of Craig is taking proper precautions of the Novel Corona Virus 2019 or COVID-19. It is of the utmost importance that we emphasize prevention and community mitigation in order to slow the potential spread of this disease in our community, especially as we open up businesses and travel to the state and our community.

We encourage you to continue to follow the CDC’s recommendations along with all Alaska State Mandates and Advisories.

The best ways to prevent the spread of the disease are:

  • Get your COVID-19 Vaccine.  Vaccine is available for persons aged 12+.  You can contact SEARHC or PeaceHealth Prince of Wales to schedule a vaccine appointment.
  • Wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer when hand washing is not possible.
  • If you are unvaccinated, wear a mask or face covering when you are out in public.
  • Keep your social circles small enough that you can list the people that you have spent time with over the past 7 - 10 days in case  you are diagnosed with COVID-19.
  • Maintain good social distancing (minimum of six feet) when in public whenever possible.
  • Stay at home if you are sick.  Call your healthcare provider to decide if you need to get tested for COVID-19.

Important Information regarding City Facilities:

Most city facilities are CURRENTLY OPEN to the public.  CLICK HERE or click on "closures and cancellations" to see a list of city facilities and additional information.

Following CDC guidance, all persons who are fully vaccinated (both doses of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine and one dose of Johnson and Johnson vaccine plus two weeks) are not required to wear a mask outdoors or indoors unless required by businesses or other establishments.  The City of Craig does not currently require fully vaccinated persons to wear a mask in city facilities.

Unvaccinated persons ( or persons who are not "fully" vaccinated) should continue to wear a mask or cloth face covering when in public and are required to wear a mask in city facilities when six foot distance from other people cannot be maintained.

The City of Craig will waive ALL credit card fees until further notice.   Customers that have been charged a fee as of March 19, 2020 will receive credit on their City of Craig account.  This applies to all credit card payments made to the City of Craig.
