Ordinance 764: Title 18 Amendment Redefining Mobile Buildings in Mobile Home Parks and Additions to Health and Safety Standards

The Craig City Council will hold a public hearing on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers to hear public comments, if any, on the following items:

Ordinance 764 – The following changes are being recommended where deleted language is shown with [strikethrough] text and brackets and added language is bold underlined.

Section 18.00.020 Definitions

“Mobile home park” means three or more mobile homes, travel trailers[,] [and/or] motor homes[, and/or other mobile building] located on one lot or parcel. [Residential mobile buildings must be built off-site and moved into place either as a completed unit or a two-piece completed unit that can be connected on-site with minimal alterations to demonstrate transportability.]

“Mobile building” means a [single] modular building designed to be transported, [placed, or removed either as a completed, single unit or two-piece completed units that may be connected on-site with minimal alterations] [on its own wheels and chassis].

Section 18.07.040 Mobile Home Parks – Standards C. Health and Safety Standards

[10. Wanigans attached to mobile units are limited in size to 50 percent of the roof area of the host building or 10x20 ft, whichever is smaller. Additional roofing over the mobile unit shall not count towards wanigan size.]

[11. Modular homes, like shipping container homes, may not be stacked within the mobile home park.]

The City Council will review this item in accordance with Chapter 18.06.006 of the Craig Land Development Code and consider adoption of the proposed language.
