Rezoning (Change of Land Use and/or Zone Designation)

All property in Craig is zoned into commercial, industrial, residential, and public zones.  The zoning for a property directs the land uses and activities that are allowed on the property.  Zoning also sets the development standards (setbacks, density, etc.) for properties.  If you are interested in rezoning your property you may submit a Zoning and/or Land Use Change Application to the planning and zoning department.  Applications must be submitted at least 15 days prior to a public hearing date with the Craig Planning Commission.

After the public notice and public hearing by the planning commission the commission will make a recommendation to the Craig City Council on the proposed zoning change.  The zoning change will then be scheduled for a future Craig City Council meeting in the form of an ordinance.  Passage of an ordinance by the city council requires two separate meetings.  Zoning changes generally take 45 - 60 days from the date of application for final approval/denial.
