Temporary Use Permits

Temporary Use Permits allow for temporary uses of private property that would normally not be allowed due to zoning or land development standards.  Temporary Use Permits will not be granted for uses lasting more than one year.  Temporary Use Permits may be granted administratively or with a hearing depending on the use.

Temporary Uses Which May Be Permitted Without a Hearing

  • Travel trailer, motor home, or mobile home for residential use while a house is being constructed or a conforming mobile home is purchased
  • Travel trailer or mobile home as a residence for a person needing special care or for a caretaker for a person needing special care
  • Travel trailer placed on a lot or parcel zoned for residential use

Temporary Uses Which Require a hearing

  • Travel trailer for residential use on a lot which does not meet square footage requirements for additional dwelling units
  • Other requested temporary uses which meet the criteria of CMC 18.06.002(C)(3).
