PUBLIC NOTICE - Island Daycare Lease Request

Venessa Richter (Island Daycare) has applied to the City of Craig for lease of the building located on Block 15, USS 1430 (301 Main Street) previously occupied by the Craig Child Care Center.  The lease will include the building and associated equipment as outlined in the final lease agreement.

Island Daycare has applied for a below market lease based on the public use exemption as defined in 16.02.030(B).  Island Daycare is in the process with the State of Alaska to register as a non-profit.

The daycare intends to provide services to children aged 3 months to 5 years with potential to expand services.

Per section 16.02.020 of the Craig Municipal Code, a public hearing on the ordinance authorizing city staff to negotiate lease terms will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. in the Craig City council chambers.
